About Colleague AI
At Colleague AI, we’re building a new generation of AI-powered tools to help educators and students thrive. Our platform brings together intelligent assistants for teachers and friendly learning buddies for students—streamlining instruction, lesson prep, grading, differentiation, and student data analysis to support more effective, equitable, and joyful learning.
Backed by prestigious federal research awards from the U.S. Department of Education and the National Science Foundation, our technology is grounded in rigor and built with real-world educators. From personalized tutoring and interactive assessments to instructional coaching and classroom AI support, we’re redefining what’s possible in K–12 education.
We believe teachers are the drivers of learning and deserve tools that feel like true collaborators. Whether in school or after school, Colleague AI empowers educators to focus on what matters most—teaching and connecting with students.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a mission-aligned Senior Account Executive to lead our expansion across the Midwest. This is a high-impact, hands-on role focused on building strategic relationships with school and district leaders, guiding them through pilots, procurement, and implementation at scale.
You’ll be the face of Colleague AI across the region—cultivating trust with educators, navigating the K–12 buying landscape, and working side-by-side with our founding team to shape the future of AI-powered teaching tools. You’ll have the opportunity to influence not just our sales growth, but also our product direction and positioning in one of our most important markets.
What You’ll Do
- Achieve Targets: Close deals and build a high-quality pipeline to meet or exceed regional booking goals.
- Drive Business Development: Prospect, qualify, and convert new opportunities across schools, districts, and public education agencies in the Midwest.
- Build Strategic Relationships: Establish and deepen partnerships with superintendents, instructional leaders, and innovation officers to drive long-term adoption.
- Design Targeted Solutions: Lead product demos and co-design pilots aligned with district goals, instructional priorities, and equity commitments.
- Navigate Procurement: Manage complex sales processes, including RFPs, stakeholder alignment, and contract execution.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work with product, implementation, and marketing teams to tailor offerings that align with district needs and funding strategies.
- Track Performance Rigorously: Maintain CRM discipline, monitor pipeline health, and deliver accurate, data-driven forecasts.
- Represent the Brand: Serve as the face of Colleague AI at key regional and national conferences, convenings, and webinars.
- Provide Market Intelligence: Share real-time insights from the field to inform product roadmap, positioning, and sales strategy.
What You Bring
- Relevant Experience: 5+ years of experience in enterprise sales, partnerships, or consulting—preferably in EdTech, SaaS, or K–12 systems
- Sales Track Record: Strong background working with public education leaders, long-cycle sales, and pilot-to-scale growth models
- Entrepreneurial Drive: Highly self-motivated and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Communication Excellence: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with fluency across both academic and technical audiences
- Regional Expertise: Familiarity with Midwest-specific funding (e.g., Title I, ESSER, state grants), procurement structures, and district decision-making dynamics
- Mission Commitment: Deep belief in education equity, innovation, and the power of technology to support teachers
Bonus Points
- Experience with AI-driven or data-intensive education platforms
- Familiarity with instructional technology standards or frameworks (e.g., ISTE, UDL, MTSS)
