AICE Certified Educator Badge
Showcase your AI teaching expertise with the AICE (AI Competency for Educators) Certified Educator Badge. This badge is certified by the University of Washington College of Education, recognizing educators who use AI confidently, creatively, and responsibly in their practice.
What Is the AICE Certified Educator Badge?
The AICE badge honors educators who can use AI tools responsibly and impactfully in the classroom. Badge earners demonstrate they can navigate multiple AI platforms, adapt AI-generated materials for their students, and design engaging lessons with AI. In short, the badge shows you know how to improve teaching and learning with AI while keeping student needs and privacy front and center.
Why Earn the AICE Badge?
Earning this badge signals that you’ve added modern AI skills to your teaching toolkit. It means you save time while maintaining high-quality instruction, and you personalize learning to meet every student’s needs. It also shows school leaders and colleagues that you’re leading the charge in AI-enabled education.
How to Earn Your Badge
You earn the badge by demonstrating AI competency through real use, not a written test. Over a two-week evaluation, we analyze your Colleague AI usage (features tried, prompts written, and how you adapt AI output) to see how AI is supporting your teaching. You also complete related training (self-paced or live). This data-driven approach ensures the badge reflects genuine skill: we’re looking at how you use AI, so you end up with a credential that matches your AI in education practices.
